This sub-component will support a leading local academic institution to partner with a credible global BPO player to establish a supervisor/mid-management level training program focused on IT/ITES, as the lack of such skills is a consistent challenge faced by almost all IT/ITES companies locally and globally. Hence Bangladesh could further build a competitive advantage through the availability of such skills. A tie up with one of the leading management training institutions in Bangladesh with an international counterpart will be a quick win for the industry.
BACKGROUND
Pursuing its vision of Digital Bangladesh, the government is committed to leveraging Information Technology (IT)/ Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) for achieving sustainable development goals by creating employment for all and thereby driving growth and competitiveness. In this connection, the following priorities are set and being pursued by different agencies and institutions:
Against this backdrop, the government has taken a bold initiative to develop human resources working in the IT/ITES industry by building managerial and technical competencies through a world-class training program designed specifically for mid-management professionals. With the growing significance of IT/ITES industry vis-a-vis the vision of digital Bangladesh,
IBA of University of Dhaka, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Delhi and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) - Ahmedabad, is launching this program, named
Advanced Certificate for Management Professionals (ACMP) to equip aspiring business leaders with much required knowledge and skill to excel in a rapidly changing global business environment.
OBJECTIVES
Eligibility Criteria
The ACMP is for management professionals within the organizations. The participants should have a graduation degree and at least have -
ACMP candidates must have demonstrated track record, inquisitive mind and potential for personal growth, backed by adaptability and intellectual and emotional maturity.
ADMISSION PROCESS
Applicants fulfilling the above requirements should be nominated by the organisation. The applicants will then be called for a pre-assessment at IBA, University of Dhaka. The applicants need to go through a written communication test, followed by personal interview..
PROGRAM MODULES
The program is divided into several interdependent modules each of which focuses on a certain aspect/function of management. Participants will be trained for a total of 200 hours, of which 152 hours will involve management modules and 48 hours technical. The technical modules are grouped along two options: Option 1 will involve Analytics and
Cyber Security and Option 2 Software Engineering.

Assessment Procedure
The assessment will be done for each module through individual and group assignments, case studies, class participation, quizzes and examinations. A minimum of 70% class attendance is mandatory.
Faculty
The program will be offered by a team of distinguished faculty members with both functional and cross functional experience and expertise. The faculty members will be from IIT-Delhi, IIM-Ahmedabad and IBA, University of Dhaka. Accomplished national and international academia and industry leaders will also be invited for deliberation and interaction with the participants.
Pedagogy
An interactive, experiential learning approach will be applied in order to ensure active participation. A mix of pedagogical tools such as cases analysis, simulation, presentation, group exercise and lecture will be used..
Venue and Facilities
The classes will be held at IBA, University of Dhaka premises. Lunch and snacks will be provided to the participants.
Program Design
The program is co-designed by IBA, University of Dhaka, IIM Ahmedabad and IIT Delhi.
Accreditation
The accreditation for the program will be done by George Washington University (GWU)
Certification
On successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a certificate by IBA, University of Dhaka.
Scholarship
ACMP is fully funded by the government of Bangladesh for the first 500 participants selected from the pool of nominations by IT/ITES organizations. The scholarship covers tuition fees as well as the lunch and snacks on training days.
