Dhaka, 09 August 2018:

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has featured on the global public policy think tank Apolitical’s list of 100 most influential in the world in Digital Government.

He has been put on the list along with distinguished personalities including Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, founder of the World Wide Web (WWW) Tim Berners-Lee, Indian Minister for Electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad and Taiwanese Minister for Digital Audrey Tang.

Apolitical, which published the list on Wednesday night under a headline: `‘World’s 100 Most Influential People in Digital Government’ said the name of the people has been included in this list due to their role in achieving unprecedented success through their visionary leadership in implementing digital government in their respective fields. 

“The people who are listed here are the incredible champions in their respective domains,” it said.

Nominations were received from renowned international organizations including OECD, the Open Government Partnership, USAID and it was finalized through rigorous research by experts in formulating this list.

In an instant reaction Palak said “This is a global recognition to the successes achieved on way to journey towards turning the government fully into a digital government by 2021 under visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy. 

The UK Foreign Office, European Commission, Government of Canada and World Economic Forum are among the patrons and partners of UK based Apolitical. They also offer a free platform helping public servants and their partners in more than 120 countries across the globe. 

Earlier In 2016, Zunaid Ahmed Palak was nominated Young Global Leader (YGL) by World Economic Forum (WEF), an international organization for public-private cooperation. Every year WEF publishes a list of below 40 years most promising leaders in the world as YGL.
