The government is going to launch a programme, "Advanced Certification for Management Professionals (ACMP)", to train over 500 mid-level managers of IT firms to boost the country's ICT sector.
Officials said the government has engaged UK-based Ernst and Young (EY) to launch ACMP on August 10 in partnership with leading academic institutions of Bangladesh.
The World Bank-financed Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment Governance (LICT) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) of ICT Division has appointed the EY in this regard, the officials said.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the EY has been asked to make a partnership with leading academic institutions of the country to launch the ACMP for enhancing skills of the managers.
"Reputed academic institutions' partnership with their international counterparts will be a quick win for the industry," the ICT state minister said.
The training will be held on social, mobile, analytics and cloud (SMAC), networking and security, big data analytics, enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things, project management, customer management, people management skills, said Bidyut Thakur, EY project director of business advisory services.
LICT Project Director Md Rezaul Karim said the ACMP programme will cover 200-hour training for each batch.
